The word aromatherapy was 1st coined by chemist in France in’20. It refers to the use of various plant substances and in particular oils which are distilled from plants which are called essential oils. The chemist was called Maurice Gattefosse and it was he who discovered some of the healing quality of essential oils after a fire in his laboratory. At the time of the fire he had lavender oil there as he was studying the use of essential oils in healing.

Following the fire at the laboratory he had burns to his arm so he plunged his arm into the back of lavender oil and found immediate pain relief. He also found the burns healed very fast and without scars will stop

The work of Maurice Gattefosse was followed up by other scientists during the Second World War when many soldiers were burnt and also experienced various other serious wounds. Research was started into the use of natural plant oils called essential oils on burns and also on healing wounds.

The art of aromatherapy under different names has been around for thousands of years. It is the art of using scents from various plant substances, now essential oils, to produce pleasant and sometimes healing effects on people with various conditions.

However, despite claims to the contrary, aromatherapy is not actually a “cure” for any particular diseases. Rather what it does is to help sufferers of illnesses cope with their illnesses by aiding their mental state.

But it is true that there are a range of psychological benefits from a positive psychological sense that comes from the use of a range of beautiful smelling essential plant oils. This improves the mental outlook of the person, reduces fear and anxiety and helps them cope better with the illness

The broad spectrum of light is very beneficial here, including both visible and invisible frequencies, including those corresponding to the chakras.

Aromatherapy: Aromatherapy is the use of scented candles, fragrant massage oils and bath soaps in order to capitalize on the healing properties and physiological effects of the chemical ingredients of plants? essential oils that make up the base product. Essential oils are able to clean, set free and restore an individual’s stability of thoughts and emotions because they can affect a person’s mental, emotion and spiritual aspects.
